CEASEFIRE NOW

I am not Jewish, I am not Muslim. I am not from Israel, I am not from Palestine.

I am a cis gendered white woman, born and raised in America due to my great grandparents who fled famine and fascism in Europe during the late 1800’s and early 1900’s. I’m here #1 because of the horrors of colonialism, and #2 because my family was able to leave (unlike those in Gaza today) AND immigrate (unlike most non-yt immigrants) I have a significant amount of privilege, I understand and acknowledge that. But this is not about me. This is about the humanitarian crisis we are watching unfold in front of our eyes once again. EVERYONE SHOULD BE SAFE FROM STATE SANCTIONED VIOLANCE AND TERROR but no one is safe until everyone is safe. I am sending all of my love to the people of Gaza, the people of Palestine, the people of Israel, Arabs, Muslims, Jews, Christians, Hindus, the list goes on and on, and includes ALL! The only “us against them” should be us against any state sanctioned oppression and violence. The trauma and loss of life on all sides is devastating and unacceptable. I condemn all acts of violence and terror. You can not fight evil with evil, if we have learned anything from history, it should be that. We are the people of the world, and our governments and leaders are failing us. None of us are safe.

There have been genocides happening all over the world, for as long as I have been on this earth, since we all have been on this earth. When is enough, enough?

Effective immediately, and for the remainder of the week, I am not working. I will not be spending any money, I am staying home, calling and emailing my state reps, and the white house. I will do my best to uplift and support the voices of others and I will be praying for us to come together and do the right thing, so we can start working on rebuilding a better world TOGETHER. I will put some links in below with ways you can participate and other content. I am sure we will have many more calls for protesting and striking in the near future. I hope you can participate in your own way.
