21 Highlights of 2021

First off I want to say that, while I am super proud of this list, there is such thing as toxic productivity and positivity. I have absolutely used my ambition and achievement as a coping mechanism to deal with my heart ache, loneliness and past traumas. My body is currently serving me my bill for decades of abuse and trauma   – so yes, I am proud, but in 2022, I am focusing on slowing down, producing only things that are meaningful to me – If all you did was survive last year, that’s beautiful, good for you!! We are in this together. The best thing we can do for eachother, is to give ourselves a break, and take really good fucking care of ourselves.

I love you.

Here is a list of 21 things I did in 2021

  1. Completed the Institute of integrated nutrition’s (IIN) Health Coaching Program, and became a certified Health Coach
  2. Also passed the exam to become certified by the International Association of Health Coaches (IAHC)
  3. Got a lot of tattoos!
  4. Dressed up as one of my favorite movie characters of all time ( why did it take 24 years?!?) and actually went to a safe, small, Halloween/Grand Opening party at my fav tattoo shop
  5. Grew my own food all year long ( I still have Kale and Beets growing!)
  6. Had my first Reiki and Breathwork session , attended my first sound bath, participated in lots of virtual guided meditations
  7. Completed Reiki training Level 1 and Level 2
  8. Went to a therapist, tried talkspace (mental health messaging app), worked with a health coach, spiritual coaches and personal trainers.
  9. Learned that my home is quite literally breaking in half  so I refinanced and started the motions to fix my home. #foreverhome
  10. Nominated to the National Society for Leadership and Success (NSLS) and started the NSLS Foundational, Advanced and Executive leadership certifications
  11. Got a promotion at work, had my highest earning year EVER and got another raise!
  12. BUT …..got totally burnt out – like, crash and burn, burnt out
  13. Got off all of my pharmaceutical meds, but had to get back on my anxiety meds thanks to my high stress unrealistic work environment 😦
  14. Started trusting myself intentionally and unapologetically
  15. Wrote 11 poems and 4 blogs
  16. Completed 367 workouts
  17. Volunteered with the Yelm Rotary and donated to my favorite nonprofits
  18. Spent time and money in my local economy and shifted most of my spending to small businesses
  19. Did my first overnight solo camping trip and started dancing again, went on mini adventures with Sam and went  kayaking a lot!
  20. Made new friends and reconnected with old ones
  21. Got Vaxxd and boosted +

I learned a lot last year, and I am looking forward to 2022 – More fun, more dancing, more adventures, helping more people, starting a new business and putting me over everything.
